Oblivion (#365daysofwriting)

Autumn winds dance through rain-drenched fields,
Golden grass dulled by darkened clouds –
A tangled passage that will be conquered.

Determination.

Traversing across untraveled paths,
Sheer curtains inhibit delicate steps –
Slender blades conceal certain peril.

Indifference.

Windswept branches pierce through the mist,
Tainted skies breached by gnarled limbs,
The forest beckons.

Oblivion.

Today is Day 313 of the #365daysofwriting challenge, hosted by @mydivathings, and this is my little creation for today’s challenge. 🙂 Which you can find behind these blue words.

I knew from the moment I saw the photo that I wanted to write a small poem for it, but the words failed me for most of the day. I started to think up a simple fifty-word tale for the photo, and finally —with Autumn winds and rain-drenched grasses— the words I originally wanted to appear at last showed up!

Of course, they showed up at the most inopportune time. 6:30pm, the settling down time of night before the rush-hour of trying to get a child into bed at his bed-time with minimal procrastination and distractions.

And now, with 20minutes to go before my own settling down time of night where I get to talk to my currently-overseas partner before I go to bed myself, I get to at last post this! Hooray!

Thank you so much for reading! 🙂 🙂
